POSC 33203 Political Economy of Human Trafficking

This course is designed to be an introduction to the political economy of human trafficking where students will spend two weeks studying abroad with site-enhanced visits. We will meet with government officials and representatives from local NGOs who will discuss some of the factors contributing to human trafficking and will engage in service learning activities that give students hands on experience in the three P's of human trafficking: prevention, prosecution and protection. Through these experiences students will gain a better understanding of the political and economic factors that contribute to the growth of human trafficking around the globe.
