POSC 32043 Justice

Prerequisite: POSC 20203. What would a just society look like? Students examine libertarian, liberal, and socialist answers to this question. Authors assigned typically include Rawls, Noziek, Marx, and others, with an emphasis on contemporary thinkers and debates. Attention is paid to the implications of various theories of justice for practical policy issues such as taxation, income inequality, the size and scope of government services, and moral limits of the market.
