POSC 31723 Science Fiction andPolitics

This class examines how science fiction enhances our ability to analyze politics, particularly through the use of counterfactuals and forecasting. By examining a variety of science fiction short stories, movies, and series, students learn how to critically analyze several public policy challenges for American government, including citizenship, immigration, the role of intelligence and expertise in policymaking, and the international challenge of failed states.
