ENGR 40554 Introduction to Digital Design
Prerequisites: ENGR 30444. Introduction to digital electronics and digital design principles. Topics include: Boolean algebra; combinational logic; sequential logic; finite state machines; transistor-level implementations; and computer arithmetic. A hardware description language (HDL) will be used to construct digital circuits using a field-programmable gate array (FPGA). Building finite state machines in hardware, and hands-on learning and design will be emphasized.
