An introduction to the interdisciplinary field of American studies, which brings together work from across the humanities and social sciences to study the histories, ideas, and collectively told stories that constitute the nation and shape its culture. Engages key concepts in the field, including the construction of difference and identity, racism and antiracism, war and empire, cultural memory, and globalization.
