2023-2024 Undergraduate Catalog

POSC 40001 Research Tutorial

Prerequisites: POSC 20093. This course is designed to prepare students to conduct original research generally and to complete an undergraduate thesis specifically. The course lays the groundwork for the formulation, design and completion of an original research project. Through seminars and project assignments, students work through the identification of a research question to the preparation of a specific research design to complete the project, with appropriate training in the techniques and strategies at each stage. Student work culminates in the completion of a research proposal that is presented for approval by a faculty committee, which then leads to the completion of the thesis during the subsequent semester.
