NURS 20043 Professional Role I: Member of the Profession
Prerequisites: BIOL 20204, 20214, 20234, NTDT 20403, SOCI 20213 and NURS 10303. This course introduces the student to the profession of nursing through an overview of nursing based on historical, theoretical, political, social, and economic perspectives. Students are introduced to nursing roles, the US healthcare system, ethical decision making, cultural competency, health promotion, standards of practice, and professional accountability.
